India's state owned telecommunication service provider BSNL has taken another step towards providing better customer support by urging them to install Motive Smart Self-care Suite which is used by many renowned ISP's all over the globe to provider automated ADSL modem setup, configuration and technician assisted troubleshooting when needed.
To urge users to install this newbie friendly ADSL Modem Configuration and setup assistance utility BSNL is doing a somewhat nasty, non-blockable hijack redirect to http://motive.bsnl.co.in/ asking them to install the utility.
Weighing an massive 158 MB download BSNL Motive Smart Suite comes with following features but sadly does not support Windows Vista and Seven yet :
- Assists users to Auto configure their ADSL Modem and Outlook Express
- Manage your Modem (CPE) seamlessly and keeps your connection Safe
- Remotely Troubleshoot your Modem by BSNL Customer Care
- Reconfigure your Modem and Outlook Express if the configuration is lost

Motive Activation is a virus infected file
I downloaded Motive Activation via http://motive.bsnl.co.in and found that the file had 21 virus infected executables.
That is shameful. India's major internet service provider setting up infected downloads and recommending them to all.
