Since Google Glass has taken everybody's attention, there is noway Chinese and Taiwanese manufactures are going to hold back by offering a cheaper solution. ChipSiP an Taiwanese original-device-manufacturer (ODM) has already demoed their prototype of "Smart Glass solution" at CES2014 having feature's superior than Google Glass like a sharp HD screen, support for 1080p video capture and a full-blown Android 4.2 operating system. The concept is powered by integrated 5-in-1 system SiP (a dual-core 1.2 GHz ARM based application processor, 2 units of DDR3L and 2 units of NAND), 1 GB RAM, 4Gb ROM, 720p transparent display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 9-axis sensor, 5 MP camera, compass, light-sensor and a microphone all housed under a small form factor with battery backup of 3 hours.
ChipSiP expects to ship this product under to the U.S. market by middle to late 2014 for under $1,000.
