Microsoft Research has now came up with "SoundWave" - a project aimed to gesture enable your computer using no specialized sensors or devices but just the in-built speaker and microphone. The technology makes smart use of "Doppler effect" to detect movements and gestures near a computer, the complex algorithm used to send-receive and decode gesture controls have some exciting usage scenarios like auto wake and sleep your computer, playing gesture controlled games and day-to-day computer navigation using air-gestures as shown in the video - add to that you can use this technology in a crowded place with lots of noise and even while playing audio from your speakers .

Intel unveils Raspberry Pi competition - The ultra-small Next Unit of Computing PC

Project "Raspberry Pi" with aim to launch a viable - world's smallest yet cheapest computing platform has a new rival. It seems citing the traction gained by "Raspberry Pi", Intel has now unveiled there own plans to launch a ultra-portable PC hardware - Intel's ultra-small "Next Unit of Computing" (NUC) PC.

Intel's NUC is a complete computer, featuring a Sandy Ivy Bridge Core i3/i5 CPU, Thunderbolt, HDMI, and USB 3.0 ports, two laptop memory slots, two mini PCIe headers - all nicely tucked into a portable 4x4 inches motherboard assembly. Since, this is not a final product and not much is know about it - speculations have that the Intel NUC won't be as cheap as "Raspberry Pi" but should retail at approximately $100-$300 range and is expected to arrive in the second half of the year.

The "Samsung Galaxy S3" appeared for sale on Amazon.de with full-specifications with Samsung launching the teaser website and video to public.

According to the Amazon Germany pre-order listing - the phone feature's a power packed configuration with a 4.7 inch capacitive Super AMOLED touchscreen, 12 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and face detection, 16 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB and Android 4 ICS OS. The German listing retails the phone at Euro 599 which translates to roughly US$ 790.
