Although not often but at times we need to change a file-extension and going the usual way of selecting the last three letters and renaming it is not one of the most efficient way to do so, new Windows explorer shell-extension "Change File Extension Shell Menu" takes the pain out of the process by providing a much simpler file extension renaming functionality right from right-click context menu.
The free open-source shell extension supports Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 and is definitely worth installing if you happen to rename file-extensions.

Awesome
I tend to rename file extensions a lot as a programmer and thought to myself bet someone has come with a better solution than just clicking through folder and file options, so did a Google search for 'extension rename context menu' and awesome haha. Why this option is not already in windows Ultimate editions that are intending for professionals we may never know.
