Thousands of website get hacked and defaced daily but not one's as popular as Twitter (Alexa Rank - 14) and the big news is that twitter got defaced for sometime by some hacker group going by the name 'Iranian Cyber Army' which posted the following message on the site's homepage.
Exact details of the hack are not yet available but Twitter is once again down after being available after the hack.

Twitter's DNS records were temporarily compromised tonight but have now been fixed. As some noticed, Twitter.com was redirected for a while but API and platform applications were working. We will update with more information and details once we've investigated more fully.

Since when did cyber anyone, from another country, use Gmail accounts? I am dubious about this event at best. Maybe twitter did it themselves for free the advertising? Stranger things. I have never used Twitter nor see the need to update everyone on every little thing you do all day.... But still, quite a problem. Kind of funny they "stick it to the man" on the internet, instead of being real men and showing their face... oh wait they would easily be killed if they did that, my bad. =]
I guess "cyber terrorism" is a growing issue... as I see it, cyber terrorism is just about as effective as throwing a pebble in a stream and expected it to impede the flow of the water. Very sad, all in all.
