When you disable self defense in settings, make sure you click "ok" to confirm otherwise you will get that error message. I made the same mistake and I ended up having a BSOD problem. (Did a quick recovery, reistalled kaspersky and followed these steps) Now it's rolling well.

after going by this process, everything--antimalware,online security etc- only "protection" is enabled, i tried to enable the rest, but, i get a message tat states-- license missing, cant be enabled >> help ??

When I try to change the entry to Beta or Trial I get an error saying that "Cannot edit 'ProductStatus': error writing the value's new content" I have disabled protection altogether since there is no auto protect option in KIS V. 8.0.0.506.

hey guys I think they blocked the Beta License too, I can't renew the Beta License.

I tried the same trick and it worked...but i was playin around and now I'm blacklisted. what can I do to resolve this problem. Please Help! :S

O.K i came home and find out that they have caught on and done something about this hack no more Beta hack, well not to fret there are trial re setters out there or if your worried about what you are downloading then re set it your self with this method....

1. Remove any keys you have installed.
2. Do the same as you would when doing the beta hack disable self defence and protection switch off kaspersky.
3. Change the registry key from beta to release.
4. Turn Kaspersky on
5. You will now have the option of trial version, activate your trial for 30 days.
6. Enable self defence and protection.
7. To re set the trial do the beta hack but dont try to activate the beta version cause it wont work but instead follow steps 1-6 again and you will find the option of trial version there again.

this is a bit of a f**k around but if you don't want to download a re setter (because you never know what else is getting installed) then this is the way to do it and if you really want just make your own program to do this..... I'm pretty sure this will work for awhile unless they get rid of the trial version all together.... I hope this helps sum of you out there. there maybe a easier way of doing this if so pls fill me in

one more - here at work we got Kaspersky (registred), old one, I guess. And it was almost expiring, 3 days left. I simply opened the 'set date/time' in Control Panel, moved back in time :) and it works! Now for a long time I'm keeping the same date on a computer and terminated programs do not expire! :)
