Traditionally, Apple has sold iPhone's in India via carrier partners like Airtel, Vodafone and Aircel. But this is soon going to change as reported by "BGR India", according to their reliable sources Apple will be taking over the distribution process for upcoming iPhone 5 India launch and will also take-care of future iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 sales in India. To get things started Apple has already appointed the India sales team and had contracted Ingram Micro and Redington for iPhone distribution.
Apple's direct entry into Indian market is definitely a good sign for local consumers, as this not only shows importance of Indian market to Apple but also means faster launches with best prices as “multi-layer distribution model” was adding to the cost of products.
