I have tried myPNRStatus and it did not work. It updated me on my ticket status, which was confirmed anyways, after the train departed from the station. No other updates. Traverts checks your status time and again and even gives you alerts about changes in departure / arrival time. Additionally, you can add up to 5 mobile nos on which you would like alerts to be sent, so, your parents / wife / friends will always be updated about the status of your train / departure time / arrival time. I found this damn useful especially if someone is coming to pick me up or something.
