Reliance Jio launched by Mukesh Ambani started the #DataGiri ("data bullying" in English) wars, and other Indian telecom players are now jumping-in with free data offers to retain customers with them.
Airtel, the largest provider of mobile telephony and second largest provider of fixed telephony in India has now buckled up to counter Reliance 4G competition by offering free 1GB of 4G data with a validity of 28 days to 90 days depending on the customer cellular-circle.
Grabbing your free data credit is also very easy, all you need to do is make a missed-call to the provided number and you are good to go:
- Make sure you have not availed any similar introductory Airtel 4G data offer before and have an eligible Airtel 4G sim with a 4G data capable device.
- To get started, Just dial 52122 from your Airtel number and the call will get disconnected as soon as your intent is registered at their end.
- On successful activation you should get a message like this:
"Congrats! You have been credited with Free 1GB data, valid for 28 days.
Ensure you switch network setting to 4G/LTE to experience high-speed internet on India’s widest 4G network." - Check the data balance using *121*2#
