Most likely a web page they designed to render quickly on safari and slow on other things.

Leave out Safari, I've used it and people who have used it also know compared to other browsers it's slow (Except it's faster than IE 7 )even their latest version 4.xx is slow. IE 7/8rc, Safari 4.xx and FF 3 faster than Opera is outrageous claim/statement. The latest version 10 build 1345 ( under development ) of Opera with their new PRESTO 2.2 engine is lot Faster and also snappier.

I can't believe that people think opera is fast. It's slow in my computer. Safari is terrible as well. But the worst is IE8 which is monstrously slow. Firefox is blazing fast and better than all of them. Firefox rules!.

I'm baffled about these browser stats? From all I've seen on the net,heard & read about the same "Top" 4 browsers. Opera is always last in speed,as well as other things. Safari is suppose to be the quickest for my OS which is windows XP home service pack 3. I've been using multiple browsers for a while & at this time I find that opera's latest version>which is not an official version yet.It's beta & I believe it's 10.0 ten? That is my default browser it's by far the fastest and I had stopped using it completely before because it wasn't interfacing well with,my space apps.,net flix and just all kinds of sites for whatever reasons but this new beta tester version so far has taken care of all the old bugs & it's just better for me in every respect!(knock on wood)

After reading so many comments,I still didn't decide which is the fastest browser. But sometimes Opera's downloading speed is better than the trial version of D.A.P...

chrome sucks however i ve used opera but the downloading speeds were low so i had to uninstall it and carry on with the WORLD FAMOUSE internet explorer with DAP

I have used Opera 10.51, it's fast but on some sites it doesn't run the videos at all and its crappy for facebook. I am currently using IE8, FF3.6 and Chrome. Overall, the fastest is Chrome, although i still use FF due to the overall features.

I am just looking for some facts.

I am not planning on marrying the browser, just using it.

I have over twenty web browsers I use often. some are just specialty things.
In the world there are over 1,000 Operating Systems.

All I am asking is which is faster. I don't need the pretty pictures, maybe an outline at first, just the text so I can drill down and search quickly.

there is much hurdle about google chrome..... i dont think it is the fastest... i really tested it on my lappy ,found much slower than a common browser and uninstalled it... if u believe i relly deleted it form hard drive... if u dont mind... i will not prefer it ..otherwise its upon u...

Look, there is nothing like the best...
:Chrome: It is a light and fast web browser (Many times ranked #1). It is good for slow computers.But it is slower in pageloading than Firefox.

:Firefox: It is also good and somewhere ranked #2. But it eats much memory and slows down the computer and if you open 5 or 6 tabs then it will be very hard to run computer easily...
In other hand, it is the fastest page loader.

And there are OPERA 11 , SAFARI, IE8/IE9 etc.

But according to me , some browsers like MAXTHON 3.2.2.1000 or K-Meleon or THE WORLD BROWSER etc are good as they use the same engine as IE or Firefox but doesn't slow down your machine.

I have used ChromePlus/Chromium browser and WYZO. They are also good.

Computer Speed sometimes matters on Internet speed. So try increasing RAM to at least 1 GB.

I would like to recommend IE9 or Firefox 8 to the speedy Windows 7 users and Chrome or Maxthon to Slow XP users...

Honest pure review and not bias, I have use the latest version Safari of year 2013 . I has nice looking design. However, its speed is slow compared with Google Chrome, CometBird, FireFox, Opera, Internet Explorer and other fast browses. That would have been ok for me if it had not been frozen (not responding ), and crashed. So I have to stop using it. Who else said it is one of the best browsers, though for my experience it is not true !

I quite agree, also would add greenbrowser, as it is the fastest one on any list.

Are you kidding me? I downloaded this junk 2 days ago and all I have been doing is twiddling my thumbs for 3 minutes at a time. That's IF it decides to load a page. I play 1 Facebook game. JUST ONE on this browser. NO email NO websurfing NO downloading anything. And I can't even play the game due to Safari freezing lagging not moving at all. IDK what the above people are using that say it is fast. Horrible Just as bad as Epic. I used both the last 2 days. I will tell u AVANT is extremely fast. And yes I have Mozilla which sucks and IE and Google. Comparing them all, Epic and Safari are way down the bottom. Now I have to find another browser cause this one is BAD NEWS. And no. I do not want to subscribe Why do companies ask you to do that when you don't care for them or their content?
