DVD Shrink is a very simple and versatile free DVD re-authoring software for compressing and backing up DVD discs, mostly used for compressing bigger DVD’s onto a single layer standard recordable DVD.
DVD Shrink allows you to remove or change DVD region coding in a very simple way, you can also re-author the DVD and identify parts that you don't need and don't want on the backup disc to save disc space, you can selectively remove different language sub-titles and additional audio streams, moreover audio types can also be decided upon between 2-channel stereo, or 5.1 Dolby surround sound, software has a very insightful user interface which is easy to use and makes it very easy to choose what to keep, and what to not.
DVD Shrink can automatically compress the video to fit into a single disc and also allows the user to select compression settings for each video track independently to obtain the required disc size usually 4.7 GB, DVD Shrink can produces the resultant DVD either an a ISO image, or VIDEO_TS folder on the hard-disk for further processing, viewing or burning. The compression is very fast and you can see a preview while the compression is in process.
